2025년 어느 늦은 밤, Meditaverse Books의 대표 김재혁은 타로 카드 한 벌을 손에 쥔 채 오랫동안 생각에 잠겼다.

Kim, CEO of Meditaverse Books, sat quietly holding a deck of tarot cards, lost
in thought.
서양 타로의 78장 체계는 유럽의 신화와 카발라, 수비학의 뼈대 위에 세워진 것이다. 그렇다면 — 그는 혼자 중얼거렸다 — 한국의 우주관, 동아시아의 오천 년 철학 위에 세워진 타로는 과연 몇 장이어야 하는가? 서양의 78이 아닌, 우리만의 수(數)로 이루어진 타로.
The Western tarot's 78-card system
was built on European mythology and Kabbalah. But what would a tarot look like,
he wondered, rooted in Korea's own cosmology — five thousand years of Eastern
philosophy?

The Birth of the Number 71
카드 수를 정하는 작업은 예상보다 훨씬 철학적인 과정이었다. 김대표는 한국인이
가장 사랑하는 세 개의 숫자를 떠올렸다. 3, 7, 그리고 5.
Deciding the number of cards turned
out to be a deeply philosophical endeavor. Jaehyuk turned to the three numbers
Koreans hold most dear: 3, 7, and 5.
3은 천지인(天地人), 삼신할머니, 삼세판의
수다. 7은 북두칠성의 수이며, 행운과 완성의 수다. 5는 오행(五行)의 수로, 동아시아 우주론의 근간을 이룬다. 이 세 숫자를 두 개씩 짝지어
곱했다.
3 is the number of
heaven-earth-humanity, of the three sacred grandmothers, of the three-match
rule. 7 is the number of the Big Dipper, of luck and completion. 5 is the
number of the Five Elements, the backbone of East Asian cosmology. Jaehyuk
multiplied them in pairs.
3 × 7 = 21 · 7 × 5 = 35

수식을 완성한 순간, 김대표의 손은 멈추었다. 억지로 만든 숫자가 아니었다. 한국인이 가장 좋아하는 세 숫자가
서로 맞물리며 자연스럽게 흘러나온 수였다. 71은 선택된 것이 아니라,
이미 거기 있던 것이었다.
When the equation was complete,
Jaehyuk set down his pen. This was not an invented number. It had flowed
naturally from the interplay of Korea's three most beloved numbers. 71 had not
been chosen — it had always been there.
인(人) 덱 21장 — 단군왕검, 이순신, 세종대왕, 황진이를 비롯한 한국의 위인들. 지(地) 덱 35장 — 백두산, 한강, 호랑이, DMZ를 비롯한 한국의 산하와 자연물. 천(天) 덱 15장 — 태양, 달, 북두칠성을 비롯한 천문과 오행 원소. 사람과 땅과 하늘이 71개의 문으로 나뉘어, 타로판 위에서 다시 만나도록 설계되었다.

기획의 뼈대가 세워질 무렵, 김대표는 오랜 협업자이자 작가 Jamie K에게 연락했다.
As the framework took shape,
Jaehyuk reached out to Jamie K, a long-time collaborator and author.
Jamie K는 한국에서 영적 깨어남의
여정을 담은 책 『Ssal』을 펴낸 작가다. 겹겹의 명상속에서
우주를 읽어내는 시선, 일상의 가장 작고 낮은 곳에서 신성을 발견하는 감각 — 그 책은 조용하지만 깊은 울림으로 독자들에게 닿았다. 현재 그는
영적 각성과 우주적 진화를 주제로 한 SF 소설 『Ascension
Protocol』을 집필 중이다.
Jamie K is the author of 'Ssal,' a
book chronicling a journey of spiritual awakening written in Korea. Reading the
universe in a single grain of rice, finding the sacred in the smallest and
lowest of everyday things — the book reached readers with quiet but resonant
depth. Jamie K is currently writing 'Ascension Protocol,' a science fiction
novel about spiritual awakening and cosmic evolution.

These were not mere words of
encouragement. They were a declaration of the philosophy underlying the entire
project. In East Asian tradition, 'yeomwon' — a deeply held prayer — is not
simply a wish. It is the belief that concentrated consciousness influences
material reality; that prayer and practice inscribe energy into space. Jamie K
looked at this tarot through that belief.

The first: the 'Multiverse'
position — the third of five spread positions. Beyond the linear
past-present-future model, it reveals the energy of the parallel universe where
a different choice was made. This concept, absent from any conventional tarot
spread, came directly from the multi-dimensional consciousness Jamie K explores
in 'Ascension Protocol.'
두 번째는 각 카드의 오행 배속과 영적 감수였다. 단군왕검 카드에 어떤 오행이
흐르는가, 이순신의 기운은 금(金)인가 수(水)인가, 백두산과 한강의 차이는 무엇인가. 이 질문들에 Jamie K는 명상과 직관, 그리고 『Ssal』을 쓰며 다진 오랜 수련을 바탕으로 답했다. 그의 손을 거치며

The second: spiritual validation of
each card's elemental assignment. Which element flows through Dangun? Is
Admiral Yi's energy Metal or Water? Jamie K answered through meditation,
intuition, and the deep practice cultivated while writing 'Ssal.' Under his
guidance, the cards transformed from an information list into living energy
conduits.

기획과 세계관이 완성된 시점에서, 실제 구현의 바통은 Anthropic의 AI Claude에게 넘어갔다.
Once the vision and framework were
complete, the baton passed to Claude, Anthropic's AI, for implementation.
그러나 이 과정은 단순한 '지시와 제작'이
아니었다. 김대표와 Jamie K가 방향을 제시하면, Claude는 그것을 코드와 언어와 구조로 번역하면서 동시에 새로운 제안을 내놓았다. 우주 진동수의 0~9 의미 체계,
멀티버스 포지션의 시각적 강조, 카드 뒷면의 태극 엠블럼이 오각형 외곽과 반대 방향으로
회전하는 아이디어 — 이것들은 모두 대화 과정에서 Claude가
제안하고, 인간 기획자들이 채택한 것들이다.
But this was no simple
command-and-execute process. As Jaehyuk and Jamie K set direction, Claude
translated their vision into code and language — while proposing new ideas. The
0–9 cosmic vibration system, the visual emphasis on the Multiverse position, the
counter-rotating taegeuk emblem: all were Claude's proposals, reviewed and
adopted by the human creators.

The most memorable moment came when
Claude first generated story descriptions for all 71 cards. When Dangun's
energy was rendered as 'the primordial oath, the first covenant between heaven
and earth,' and the Tiger card read 'fear and courage are two faces of the same
gate' — Jaehyuk and Jamie K exchanged a glance.

The elemental combination of your
